Terms & Conditions

1. Delivery times are subject to weather, traffic, and road conditions.

2. The carrier's liability is limited to $2.00 per pound ($4.41 kg) per shipment unless otherwise declared on the waybill, in which case an additional insurance charge of 2% declared value (minimum charge $3.00) will be applied. Shipments with a declared value of $500 or more must be arranged with carrier prior to shipping.

3. Primary responsibility for all delivery charges rests with the shipper, as well as any costs which may incur for returning the shipment or warehousing pending disposition. Collect delivers must be arranged with the carrier prior to shipping. If accepted. The waybill must be clearly marked COLLECT.

4. There is a $20.00 charge for each returned cheque.

5. Shipments over 10 kg. will be charged an extra 10 cents per kg. For the portion over 10 kg. limit.

6. A charge of 40 cents per minute will be applied if excessive waiting and/or loading/unloading time.

7. A charge of $1.00 per extra piece may be applied to shipments of multiple pieces.

8. Mobile 1 has the right to refuse any delivery it feels does not fall within its delivery capabilities or it cannot properly service.

9. Deliveries not within normal business will be charged at double Rush rates in a minimum.

10. Where a shipment must be re-directed due to the address on the waybill being wrong, an extra charge will be applied.

11. Where Mobile 1 has not been notified of a cancelled request in time to prevent the arrival of a representative at the shippers address, the charge applied will be one half of the original charge.

12. Where a shipment requires a return-trip to the point of shipment, or a second location from the consignee, an addition at trip will be applied.

13. Mobile 1 will provide Proof Of Delivery (POD) by phone or fax when available, after request is made, for a charge of $1.00/POD.

14. Dangerous goods, provided they comply with all provisions of the I.A.T.A. 'Dangerous Goods Regulations' and the Canadian 'Transportation of Dangerous Goods Act' will be accepted with the expectation of Explosives, Radioactive Substances and Hazardous Wastes. A Surcharge of $10.00 will be applied. DANGEROUS GOODS must clearly be indicated on the waybill and be arranged with the carrier prior to shipping.

15. Mobile 1 assumes no liability for any loss, damage, or delay due to improper packing or marking. No claim against fragile commodities will be entertained unless the description on waybill shipment clearly indicates FRAGILE in bold visible letters. In such cases the minimum service in such a shipment will be considered a Hot. Time sensitive (ie. tenders) must be arranged with the carrier prior to shipping. If accepted, the waybill must be clearly marked with the delivery deadline. The minimum service for shipments in such cases will be Hot service.

No claim against Mobile 1 will be accepted if not filed with the carrier within 30 days of the delivery date.
